Greetings from Home

After an 8-year residency in and 3-year hiatus out of Singapore, I am back in this "clinically sterile" island-state of this Lion City. It was symbolic to fly Singapore Airlines for this voyage home, and when the aircraft touched down on the tarmac of Changi Airport, a big smile formed on my face. I asked the Immigration Officer to stomp a stamp on my passport, instead of just keying my arrival details into their typically-Singapore technology. The cab ride from the airport to Mark's house enlarged that smile further, and I looked out of the left and right windows of the quiet-running Hyundai Sonata blue cab like the proverbial katak. This is the day I have been holding out for. Finally, I am home and I am here to stay.
